Art has been a form of meditation since I can remember thinking.

In Highschool I got to take ap art with a brilliant teacher in Zurich. I created about 30 clay scultpures and an extensive drawing portfolio which eventually got me into Pratt Institute in Brooklyn New York. Out of practical reasons I studied art direction but painted at home when I had time and resources.

The liminal space series happened between 2021 and 2023. It is not a series that required a whole lot of on paper sketching and preparing. Rather I would dedicate large amounts of time with the canvases to see what would be created. I would keep the last stage in my mind until an exiting next step would spark. Sometimes what seemed exiting in my head would also work on canvas, other times not so much. This process would go on until the painting felt complete to me. This is also the reason for the numerous layers of these paintings.
